Pros and Cons of using answer sheet in assessments books.

In all self-directed learning, immediate feedback is the most efficient way of acquiring new knowledge, hence answer sheet is like a mini tutor, that provides immediate feedback to the learner.

The idea of using Answer sheet is to counter check to get immediate feedback so that the learner need not stuck at the questions and think which is a waste of time. The students are required to refer when in doubt. After that the next day when this question is revisited, the student should have the impression of this question.

Cons:

1. student memorised the answer esp. MCQ - memorising the sequence of numbers.
2. student copy answer directly without attempting

(all these can be counter-check easily during lesson on what is done. Should a student have more than 10% wrong in the counter-check test, it is very likely that the student did not follow the proper procedures. Based on my 5 years experiments, students who at first "cheated" start to believe when they did the proper way and achieved results, in the end, they do the proper way without supervision.)

Pros:

1. Efficient learning (able to check answer immediately)
2. Promote self-directed progressiveness in learning

Proven feasibility and practical results.

My conclusion:

Do not be too fast to conclude and alter the tasks specifications as every aspect of it I have specific remedies, any changes will affect the focus of the tasks given and designed.
